I’d also like to add, there actually is quite a bit of lore on the traditions of names between species. This is only touched on one time really, plus this kind of…subtle nod ig. But I can provide some insight: crocodiles name their children very strong names, like Champion, Victory, Brave, etc, holding the belief that their names will help them survive. The ones with more weaker sounding names are seen as less able.
Additionally, just to throw this in there, numbats care very little about their names. Typically they choose the first name that comes to mind. It’s their belief that because they’re so territorial, very rarely do they actually use one another’s names. So what’s the point in giving them good ones?
